With each install of WordPress my go to plugins I install are

  • Google XML Sitemaps – Instantly creates an XML Sitemap and submits it to Google and Bing and a few others for you
  • All in One SEO Pack – Allows you to add your Title, Description and Keywords to each page
  • Tiny MCE Advanced Editor – Enables the advanced features of TinyMCE, the WordPress WYSIWYG editor (so more buttons for formatting)
  • Contact Form 7 – Easily creates multiple contact forms, plus you can customize the form and the mail contents flexibly with simple markup. The form supports Ajax-powered submitting, CAPTCHA
  • Collision Testimonials – Build a database to store and display the testimonials for your website.
  • Google Maps – If your client has a location and wants directions. This plugin allows you to easily insert Google Maps into your blog
  • Mailchimp – Allows client to have an inline newsletter signup box that feeds to a MailChimp account
  • Next Gen Gallery – Creates easy slideshows and galleries that can easily be used to display products
  • Google Analyticator – Adds your Google Analytics to your site easily
  • Exclude pages – Excludes pages form your menu like a privacy Policy that you want linked from the footer Only – This is only if you have a theme that does not allow you to use the menu function
  • My Page Order – This is good for free Themes that don’t allow you to use the menu function – it orders the pages in your menu for you
  • Thesis Open Hook – If you are using the Thesis Theme this helps you customize many parts easily without writing PHP
  • Shopp – A shopping cart plugin – paid but give a basically simple cart to use in WordPress
  • Calendar – If you need a basic calendar for events on a website
  • Share & Follow – One of my favorites to display the icons to follow them on a sidebar off on the side of the screen, you can customize which ones you want to display, color it to match any site, then add the follow feature after stories or pages.
  • FAQ You – creates a database of FAQs with a nice drop down feature to display the answers
  • Tabber Widget – The Tabber-Widget easily allows you to add multiple tabbed widgets in to one widget area.
  • Print Friendly – Printer Friendly PDF pages without coding, css, or print.css. Fast, easy, and professional.
  • Custom Field Template – This plugin adds the default custom fields on the Write Post/Page.
  • Custom Post Types UI – This plugin provides an easy to use interface to create and administer custom post types and taxonomies in WordPress.
  • Magic FieldsFocuses in simplifies content management for the admin creating custom write panels also with Magic Fields you will be able to create (in a very easy way) custom fields for your write panels.
